TECHNOLOGY - FRIEND or FOE?

There is an app for that....

Technology has aided in making a lot of things in life easier for us. Having a smart phone with phone, text and email, weather, calculators, newsfeed, stock info, music and numerous other features definitely can help one's productivity.

Do you know anyone that doesn't have a mobile phone or computer?

What I've noticed about them - they seemed to be a lot less stressed out than the rest of us. When a buzzer, chime, ping or beep happens, they don't flinch and reach for a device.

I remember the day I decided to go from a flip phone to a smartphone. I was in San Diego at the Convention Center with about 1500 other Realtors coming out of the morning meetings, headed to lunch. Most of my colleagues had already made the switch to smartphones. I checked voicemail, then realized I needed to go to my hotel room to check email. So, I told the group I was headed to lunch with that I would catch up, I needed to run to the hotel fire up the laptop and check email. Nothing urgent, now head to lunch.

Most of the time I love the convenience of technology. But when it's not working correctly or it's too complicated, it can be a pain.

Are you a gadget geek, need to have the latest and greatest technology? Or are you just happy to have what you have, hoping there's not a new upgrade or update that changes everything on your phone?
